A Letter From OUR FOUNDer

Kristin Brown

There are moments in life when you receive a gift bigger than you could ever dream or imagine. It first starts as a seed, planted so deeply within your heart that you didn’t even know it existed… until one day, it is given Living Water. Like a spring, flourishing up from the dry ground, producing uncontrollable streams… bringing life to everything it touches. This is my seed, my heart and the essence of Concishare. A gift I would love to share with you, and an opportunity to enhance your life by bringing the most passionate providers in the industry to be of service to you in the comfort of a home. There’s truly no greater joy in the world then to serve one another, and I pray you leave feeling more enriched with joy and abundance than ever before.

– Your CEO, Kristin Brown

According to Scott’s 5th grade teacher Mr Miele, who taught him how to juggle, “Kid, with talent like that, you will go places.” Nearly four decades later Scott finds himself as the CTO for Concishare, where “Our entire staff will be going places.” Scott was picked up off the waiver wire after spending 20 years with several technology companies building the best software products with someone else’s money. Scott has spent the last five years in the worlds most exotic places leading teams of developers, from the beaches of Cebu to the coffee plantations of Costa Rica, he has developed a knack for getting the most out of talented resources. A graduate of the Pac-12 sleeping giant, Arizona State University, Scott enjoys going to games every season to see if the new coach can finally get the Sun Devils out of the cellar and to the top.

When Scott isn’t solving his in-laws internet issues he enjoys hiking, coaching girls volleyball, leading mission trips to Mexico, and spending time with his family. He is also the owner of one lucky dog named Wrigley. (He’s named after the field, not the gum!)

Growing up in the streets of New York you quickly learn to appreciate the uniqueness of different cultures and value the distinctions in people.  Being in this environment surged my curiosity about the human race and led me on a journey seeking out ways to make people happy.  Couple my curiosity with my desire to see all the corners of the earth….what do you have???  A hotelier at heart!  From before I could even remember service was part of who I was – it ran through my veins. Taking care of people was part of my DNA.

Fast forward some 40+ years and I am still in the people pleasing business. I have had the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives from my first job of packing groceries at the local bodega to today.

As a hotelier I have worked for companies like Club Med, The Ritz-Carlton and Starwood Hotels.  During my time in the biz I did a little bit of everything but found my home when I began working on building culture and learning models for the talented people in these companies.  From corporate trainer to learning architect I am fiercely dedicated to bringing learning into everything I do and the people I impact. Now it’s time to turn that passion to Concishare where we have the ability to make the difference to so many people’s lives and work!

When I’m not at work I am chasing around my very engaging and sassy three-year-old daughter answering WHY about everything and loving on my 7-month-old son.  I get to do this with the best partner I have ever had – my husband.

I was born in New York to the unlikely combination of a French father and German mother. My early life was steeped in European culture, particularly cuisine and wine, and an appreciation for discipline and hard work. Although I wanted to be a chef I followed my parent’s admonition to get “a real education” at Cornell University, picked up Spanish along the way, and returned to my passions by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Hospitality from their famed Hotel School. I then spent the next 20 years honing my craft, and becoming a General Manager for Four Seasons, St. Regis and Rocco Forte Hotels and Resorts in the US and Europe.

Not happy to merely run luxury hotels, I diversified my career by focusing on the strategic development, construction, historic renovation, financial turnaround and operational restructuring of well-known properties and brands. The hotels I managed have consistently risen to the top of recognized worldwide rankings including the Travel + Leisure Gold List, Travel + Leisure It List, Conde Nast Traveler’s Top Hotels, Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List, Andrew Harper’s Top Hideaways and Robb Report Best of the Best.

Being a problem solver and team builder, I then explored tangential industries and applied my skills of operationalizing luxury concepts in a series of C-level assignments for start-up and re-launched multi-property, shared-use real-estate, and office-based businesses at Nantucket Island Resorts, Solstice Collection, Jumby Bay Island Company, Bloomberg and Adelphi Hospitality Group.

My delightful and patient family are happy that we are now settling back down in Scottsdale where I can concentrate on them first, as well as Concishare. Oh, and cooking, riding my motorcycles and pursuing my early college passion of black & white medium and large-format photography.

Growing up in Arizona, I began working in hospitality as a host at the age of 15 at the same family-owned, Mexican restaurant where his mother had been a server for 25 years. In the early years of my career working as a bartender, I quickly found my love for entertaining and connecting with people. Working in hospitality in many capacities and different style operations, from F&B Director at Wild Thyme Group to Director of Operations at Urth Caffe. I’ve found that you always have one common factor, people always come first and the experiences we create are the memories that last a lifetime. My wife is a Chef, we are a true hospitality family through and through. Concishare has given me the ability to truly create unique and memorable experiences curated in the best of settings, our guests home.

I come from a large family and grew up in the South Suburbs of Chicago. The hospitality and hotel world has been part of my life from day one with my Grandfather and Dad showing me the ropes. It was impressed upon me at an early age that hard work, attention to detail and treating people right is the key to a successful life.

I graduated from Carthage College with a degree in Business Administration and Economic Geography. After college I got a job in sales and customer service and while it was paying the bills it was just a job and left me wanting more. An opportunity presented itself to move to Telluride, Colorado to own and operate a luxury property management business and I never looked back. Over my 17 year career running Operations in Property and Rental management, I have been lucky enough work along side all of the major players in the industry.

My career has led me to many different positive paths in my life, including meeting my wife at a previous hospitality company. We enjoy spending family time with our young daughter and our loving dog. We love hiking, trips to the zoo and Saturday morning coffees and famers markets.
